<strong>MBR</strong> (Master Boot Record) is a type of disk partitioning scheme used in older versions of Windows operating systems.An MBR disk can have a maximum of four primary partitions or three primary partitions and one extended partition. The extended partition can be further divided into logical drives.The MBR also contains the boot loader code, which starts the operating system. The maximum size of an MBR disk is 2 TB.Newer versions of Windows (Windows 8 and later) support the newer <a href="https://webyildiz.com/blog/tag/gpt-disk/">GPT</a> (GUID Partition Table) partitioning scheme, which allows for larger partition sizes and more partitions. However, MBR is still commonly used in older computers and devices.
